You’ve certainly heard concerning the Trojan Family, or at the least some reference to it. Yet it’s difficult to truly realize the real ways the Trojan Family exhibits itself without really experiencing it first-hand. Here, we shall do my best to give you a sense of what it’s all about.
For starters, we’re BIG, with over 300,000 living alumni global. Wherever you decide to settle, there will be a number of Trojans there to support both your expert and individual pursuits. There are over 100 alumni organizations in major towns and cities across the world that host networking events, local faculty presentations, and USC game-watching parties, simply to name a couple of. There are numerous benefits to being fully a USC alumnus. Personal advantages include discounts on food, travel, insurance coverage, monetary services, etc. Yet, in today’s difficult economic times, it could very well be the professional benefits of being a part of the Trojan Family that are most advantageous.
The USC Alumni Association, together with the USC Career Center, provides alumni with multiple resources including:
-Trojans contracting Trojans, an effort that offers alumni free access to ConnectSC, a large online task listings database
-Fight On!line, a database that helps alumni stay linked with one another
-Career counseling at a reduced rate
-Access to career fairs throughout the 12 months
At USC, we are incredibly happy with our great institution and think that the connections you form should not end after four years. Jump-Start USC Internships to your Career
USC is a college with numerous research opportunities, a rich campus life and an interdisciplinary method of training that enables students to pursue disparate scholastic passions. Fundamentally, our hope is that these attributes will prepare students to be leaders and innovators also to contribute to the global world after they graduate. Section of that preparation means giving pupils opportunities for internships; to apply what they will have learned into the class room to a real-world environment. Through internships students experience different occupations and gain actual life experience.
Having Los Angeles in our backyard gives our undergraduates an advantage in the professional world. Los Angeles is a populous city where styles begin. Our company is city of pioneers in the arts, entertainment, technology, business and interaction. Naturally, recruiters from premiere businesses and corporations positioned in the town are attracted to the skilled and expert pupils that our university produces and offer numerous opportunities.
Students have the ability to access these internship possibilities through several avenues on campus. They could read about an internship through a teacher, a classmate, or by approaching the career center inside their departments that are respective. Even though a learning student is searching for an internship outside of Ca, they can simply access the iNet Internship Consortium. There was an amount that is endless of and digital resources available for our students; they do not need to search very far to find an internship. More especially, the USC Career Center is a ‘one stop shop’ for students searching for job opportunities. They provide workshops, career fairs and advisement to help undergraduates with resumes, interview etiquette, and anything else you can think of with regards to pursuing job or an internship. The faculty and staff work difficult to make sure our pupils have the skills to be competitive and adaptive in an ever-changing economy.

The Global Community of USC

The most represented geographic areas at USC are California, Texas, New York, Illinois, New Jersey, and Washington within the United States. Outside of the U.S., the most represented areas are China (including Hong Kong), South Korea, Canada, Taiwan, Asia, and Mexico.
Joseph Harari, a current sophomore from Mexico, shared his experience being an international pupil at USC:
Every day, you are surrounded by pupils from countries all over the world. I currently live with four other students from Latin backgrounds, that has allowed me to find out more about Panamanian culture, Guatemalan culture, etc. As business student, we have a lot of connection with this classmates. The other day in my Macroeconomics course, there was clearly a lady from Dubai in my group, that has been helpful because she was able to bring knowledge that is first-hand the United Arab Emirates’ economy. Having other international students around can also be good because we can help each other with paperwork, finding internships, and other logistical things like that. You meet so many people from a wide variety of backgrounds; it really opens up the entire world for you.
Having students at USC from all over the world adds to both the academic and social experiences of all students. Kristen Chang, an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admission and an alumna associated with University, describes her experience that is positive
In a day that is single my morning could be invested inside my on-campus task with my coworker from Dubai; my afternoon was at a conversation section with my classmate from Melbourne; in the evening I might hit the Lyon Center with my workout buddy from Munich; I would then eat dinner with my roommate who was from Japan. Quite simply, I would travel the world in one day, and these encounters only enriched my time spent at USC by enabling me to experience cultures that are different perspectives to which I might not have otherwise been exposed.
At USC, one can have truly global experience without even leaving the walls of campus!
